Job Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision and coordinates unit clinical operations with other departmental disciplines under the direction of the Senior Manager Nursing / HOD Nursing.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care.
- Provide leadership by collaborating with members of the health care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
- Participate in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities, and provide input on standards of care.
- Committed to improve patient outcomes, nurse education, and training in hospital settings.
- Build and maintain collegial environment that supports positive group processes.
- Recognize own sphere of influence; utilize oneself and the relationship with colleagues to elicit their strength.
- Ensure continuous up gradation of the skills.
Skills:
- Monitor the quality of nursing care delivered by reviewing documentation process, investigating all practice concerns.
- Assure the nursing policies, procedures, and operating practice are in compliance with the standards set by hospital and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain liaison between nursing profession and other departments to ensure co-ordination for optimal patient care.
- Apply advance knowledge in respect to clinical matters, serving as a role model and resource.
- Provide the staff nurses, in charges with the avenue for formal leadership and professional development opportunities.
- Facilitate smooth operations among the multidisciplinary team through networking and relationship building.
- Responsible for staff induction, orientation and training process.
- Responsible for direct coordination for staffing, utilization review.
- Provide timely Counseling to the staff nurses on day to day basis.
- Identify and initiate professional growth of staff nurses, in charges by providing continuous nursing service education, in-service education programs.
- Conduct performance appraisal for staff nurses.
- Coordinate for monthly meeting for staff nurses and in charges.
- Using evidence based practice to improve patient care and nursing strategies.
- Updating and coordinating with patient feedback by providing RCA with appropriate CAPA.
- Identify essential competencies within the Department of Nursing and assures appropriate preceptor/preceptee system to promote the growth and the development of newly joined staff.
- Counsel employees on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions, and collaborates in monitoring attendance issues.
- Develop a quality management plan for nursing by developing Nursing SOP’s.
- Improving nursing practices by structuring processes to ensure continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
- Attend to patient complaints unresolved at lower levels.
- Keep abreast of new technological developments in nursing and health care.
